Chain Pulling Case Registered By Railways Against Sunny Deol And Karisma Kapoor

Mumbai: A railway court has accused actor-turned-politician Sunny Deol and actress Karisma Kapoor of allegedly pulling an emergency chain of a train during the shooting of one of their films. The allegations come after more than 20 years. Karisma Kapoor and Sunny Deol’s counsel AK Jain said the two actors challenged the order in a sessions court on Wednesday.

For a career, Karisma Kapoor and Sunny Deol were shooting their film ‘Bajrang’ in 1997 at Sanvarada village near Phulera in Ajmer district, Rajasthan. A train was delayed as they pulled their chains for the shoot for which the Indian Railways finally accused them. The train was 2413-A Uplink Express and had a delay of 25 minutes.

AK Jain said that charges against Sunny Deol and Karisma Kapoor were read in 2009. Subsequently, he challenged in a sessions court on April 2010. The sessions court acquitted both the actors from all charges, but on 17 September the railway court again framed charges against both actors.

Not only were Sunny Deol and Karishma Kapoor, the film’s stuntmen Tinu Verma and Satish Shah also charged, but they did not challenge the charges.

The railway court has now implicated Sunny and Karisma. The next hearing in the 1997 case is on 24 September
