Clean Chit To PM Modi Over His ‘Bhrashtachari No 1’ Comment On Rajiv Gandhi

Mumbai: This is another clean chit for the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s comment on former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi’s “Bhrashtachari No.1 by the Election Commission, which the Congress party had said to be a violation of Model Code of Conduct (MCC).

ANI news agency quoted its source saying “The examination mentioned in this complaint has been done with the objective of identifying the cases of violation of Model Code of Conduct. Prima faculty, we did not detect any literal violation of MCC as given in the directions of Election Commission of India is.”

Earlier on May 4, addressing an election rally in Uttar Pradesh, Prime Minister Modi had said, targeting Rahul Gandhi: “Your father was described by his court as ‘Mr. Clean’, but his life was ‘Bhrashtachari No. 1’.

Soon after, Senior Congress leaders including Abhishek Manu Singhvi, Rajiv Shukla, and Salman Khurshid met the Election Commission officials and conveyed the objection of the poll panel of their objection to Prime Minister Modi’s statement against former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
