CM Devendra Fadavnis And Railway Minister Piyush Goyal Flag Off II Second Phase Of Mumbai Monorail
Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadavnis and Union Railways Minister Piyush Goyal Inaugurated the 20 km long second phase of Mumbai Monorail.
Addressing the media here, Chie Minister Fadanvis said, “After multiple assurances and announcement finally the corridor is open for its amenity.”
The inaugural happened on Sunday but the regular utility will be started from Monday.
“The opening of the second phase will attract almost 30lakh people while there were only around 4.5 lakh commuters who were using phase one,” Fadnavis added.
The certification for security of the second phase came in 2018 April itself but there were no rakes. Due to insufficient rolling of rakes by The Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Operator Scomi Engineering, the opening of the second phase was delayed to Jacob Circle.
CM Fadavnis, Rail Minister Goyal along with other dignitaries travelled from Jacob Circle and within around half an hour reached to Wadala depot.
