Congress Senior Leaders Rushed To Rahul Gandhi’s House After He Refused To Meet Anyone

Mumbai: Senior leaders of Congress party including Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot rushed to Rahul’s resident after he refused to meet any party leader out there.

Uttar Pradesh Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi, Ashok Gehlot, Randeep Singh Surjewala, Sachin Pilot and others have reached Rahul Gandhi’s house, which is heavily dependent on the Congress.

After the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting on Saturday, the Congress leadership announced that Rahul Gandhi had offered to resign, but the party refused to accept it.

However, one day later, sources said that Rahul Gandhi was firm on resigning from the post of party chief. He insisted that Congress should find a new party president, although many party leaders urged him not to take such a drastic step.

Meanwhile, Rahul lambasted on several top Congress leaders, including Ashok Gehlot, Kamal Nath and P Chidambaram, for concentrating on their sons and their election campaigns while ignoring their regions and other seats.

The latest crisis hit the grand old party after a heavy loss on May 23, in spite of a fierce campaign under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, the Congress was reduced to 52 seats.

Even when Rahul Gandhi himself is determined to step down as the party chief, then chief of the state legislators also resigned in the post-election.
