COVID-19 Cases In India See 15% Jump Over Yesterday As 2,380 People Test Positive

The death toll rose to 5,22,062 with 56 fresh deaths, data updated at 8 am

Mumbai: India reported 2,380 COVID-19 cases and 56 deaths in the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. This comes a day after the country saw 2,067 COVID-19 cases and 40 deaths.

The death toll rose to 5,22,062 with 56 fresh deaths, data updated at 8 am.

The ministry said active cases comprise 0.03 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate stands at 98.76 per cent.

The active COVID-19 caseload has registered an increase of 1,093 cases in a span of 24 hours.

According to the ministry, the daily positivity rate was recorded at 0.53 per cent and the weekly positivity rate at 0.43 per cent.

The number of people cured of the disease rose to 4,25,14,479, while the death rate stood at 1.21 per cent.

The cumulative doses administered in the country so far under the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination drive have exceeded 187.07 crores.
