Decision On New Cong Prez Should Be Taken At Earliest: Scindia

Mumbai: Immediately after Rahul Gandhi stepped down as Congress President, senior party leader, Jyotiraditya Scindia, insisted on finding a new head Bedi as soon as possible.

“We have to find a new party president much time has passed. Now, we can not allow more time to pass. Scindia said that the decision on the new Congress chief should be taken as soon as possible and a leader should be given the opportunity to communicate new energy in the party,” Scindia, who is said to be a front-runner for the top post told reporters.

Apart from this, the former Guna MP said that efforts to convince Gandhi had failed. “This is a serious time for Congress. Scindia said that we had never thought that Rahul Gandhi, who led not only the Congress but also the people of the country, would leave their position.”

The Congress leader also emphasized the reinforcement of the grand old party. He said, “It is a time when every organization has to make itself strong and strong and this time it has come for Congress. We must win the faith, love and blessings of the people of the country.”

When asked about his name coming in the AICC president’s race, Scindia said, “Deciding about the party president will be a collective decision. The Congress Working Committee decides We all have to make a decision together.”

On July 7, Scindia resigned as the National General Secretary of the Grand Old Party Former AICC general secretary said on Sunday that he had submitted his resignation to Rahul Gandhi after accepting the people’s decision and taking accountability.
