Delhi Records 7 Deaths Due To COVID-19, Lowest Since April 1; 135 Cases In 24 Hours

The data said this is the first time the daily fatality figure has hit single digits since April 1, when the city recorded nine deaths and 2,790 cases

Delhi: Delhi on Saturday recorded seven deaths due to COVID-19, its lowest single-day death toll since April 1 and 135 new cases of coronavirus.

According to the data shared by the health department here, the positivity rate in the national capital has come down to 0.18 per cent.

With these new deaths, the death toll in the city has risen to 24,907.

The data said this is the first time the daily fatality figure has hit single digits since April 1, when the city recorded nine deaths and 2,790 cases.

Delhi had on April 3 recorded 10 deaths due to COVID-19.

The phase-wise unlocking process in Delhi had started with permission for construction and construction activities from May 31. This was later extended with the reopening of markets and malls on an odd-even basis and the resumption of Delhi Metro services and other relaxations.

However, there is still a ban on the opening of cinema halls, amusement parks, amusement parks, spas, gyms, yoga institutes, public parks, schools, colleges and other educational institutions.

Restrictions on social, political, sports, cultural, religious gatherings and other large gatherings have also not been lifted.
