Devendra Fadnavis Approves Rs 4.24 Lakh Crore Annual Credit Plan

Mumbai: In a recent development, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has approved Rs 4.24 lakh crore annual credit plan for the year 2019-20.

The approval was given during the meeting of the 143rd State Level Bankers Committee (SLBC) in which state ministers Chandrakant Patil, Deepak Kesarkar, senior central and state officials, RBI officials and bankers participated.

A statement of the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said that Fadnavis approved an annual loan scheme of Rs 4,24,029 crore for the year 2019-20, which includes an annual loan scheme for agriculture of Rs 87,322 crore.

Fadnavis appealed to all banks to achieve this goal and give maximum loan to the farmers.

“The purpose of this mechanism is to bring our farmers into institutional credit system and empower them financially. This platform is not commercial,” he said.

Under Prime Minister Jan Dhan Yojna, till March 31, 2019, 2.49 crore accounts were opened in Maharashtra out of which 1.22 crore accounts were from rural areas.

Under the Atal Pension Scheme, approximately 11.22 lakh customers registered themselves, around 40.22 lakh under Prime Minister Jyoti Jyoti Bima Yojana and 97 lakh people added it under the Prime Minister’s Security Insurance Scheme.
