Done With Sixth Phase Of Panchayat Election In Jammu & Kashmir

Mumbai :  Today it was the sixth phase of Panchayat election in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, were the voting begun by morning 8 am and ended at 2 pm.

Huge number of voters were seen queuing outside the polling boths in Harwan constituency of Srinagar and in Udhampur’s Malhar polling booth as well.  Moving ahead Rajouri also witnessed number of voter’s waiting in the que.

Total of 7,156 candidates are in the fray for 6 Sarpanches and 2277 Panches in this phase. Nearly 5,97,396 electorate will be voting for Sarpanch constituencies, whereas 4,57,581 electorate will vote for Panch constituencies.

Around 711 polling stations has been categorised by the election commission of which 410 are in Kashmir divison and 361 in Jammu Division.

Security arrangements was arranged including the deployment of Central Armed Police Force.

Holidays were declared on the day of polls in the panchayat areas, meantime to run voting process smoothly the state poll appointed senior government officers to guide the voting process.

Panchayat elections has been held in nine phase in the state, were the next phase will be held on 4th of December and counting of the votes will b done on the same day.
