Economic Activities Will gain Momentum In Coming Days: Prime Minister Narendra Modi

Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Monday that economic activities in many parts of the country have started picking up the pace and this process will be further accelerated in the coming days.

In a fifth video conference with the Chief Ministers on Monday, the Prime Minister said that there is clearly a clear indication of the geographically worst affected areas in the country.

“We should realize that the fight against COVID-19 has to be more focused now,” he said.
The Prime Minister said that the road ahead should be focused on reducing the spread of coronavirus and ensuring that precautions are taken.

“Moving forward, the road ahead should be focused on reducing the spread and ensuring that all precautions are taken by people while following ‘Di Ghazi Gajori’, including social distance norms. Follow-up is of paramount importance and we must do so to the hilt,” he said.

The Prime Minister said, “We have to ensure that rural India remains free from this crisis.”
He said that the Cabinet Secretary on Sunday informed the Chief Secretaries and Health Secretaries about the current situation and the steps being taken.

“Slowly but surely economic activity has started in many parts of the country. This process will grow even faster in the coming days,” he said.

Extended lockdown implemented to stop the spread of coronavirus is scheduled to end on 17 May.
