Mumbai: Actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan who is in buzz due to his controversial statement on terrorism has come up with the new vision as he said that “every religion has its own terrorists” and no one claim to be holy.
He also said that he was not afraid of being arrested but warned any such action would escalate tensions.
The founder of MNM said that the comment made during the assembly elections of Arvakuri Assembly constituency was not held for the first time on Sunday, even as he said that “every religion has its own terrorists” and “it shows that all religions Are extremists.”
“Let me tell you that terrorists follow all religions … every religion has its own terrorists and we can not claim that we are holy and we have not done so. History shows you that all religions have their extremists, “he told reporters here, adding that Sunday’s campaign was to maintain goodwill with adding attention to his speech.
He said, “I am not afraid of arrest but I have to campaign in the election, let them arrest, but if they arrest me, then the tension will increase. This is not my request but a piece of advice,” he replied when he asked if Madras High Court release order to arrest him.
In connection with the police refusing to allow election campaign in Sulur assembly constituency of Coimbatore, MNM chief asked why the by-election cannot be adjourned if there was a problem.
