Fadnavis Has Links With Dawood Aide, Shielded Fake Currency Racket: Nawab Malik

Malik said that Fadnavis is trying to divert the issue and defend Sammer Wankhede as he has close relation with him

Mumbai: Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik has claimed that former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has links with Riyaz Bhati, an aide of don Dawood Ibrahim.

The NCP leader also claimed that Fadnavis protected fake currency rackets in Maharashtra after demonetisation with help from Sameer Wankhede, who was then with DRI.

“Nagpur’s notorious criminal Munna Yadav was appointed chairman of Construction Workers’ Board by Devendra Fadnavis during his govt. One Haidar Azam, involved in illegal immigration of Bangladeshis, was appointed chairman of Maulana Azad Finance Corporation by Fadnavis,” Nawab Malik.

He added, “One Riyaz Bhati, a close aide of Dawood Ibrahim, was arrested at Mumbai airport with a fake passport. He was allowed bail in 2 days only. Why was Riyaz Bhati in close contact with you (Devendra Fadnavis)?. Bhati has been seen with many big leaders in pictures.”

Malik also said that Fadnavis is trying to divert the issue and has very close relations with Sammer Wankhede, adding that he is trying to defend him.

He said, “I’m fighting against a man who is framing innocent people in fake cases. Devendra Fadnavis is not only diverting my issue but also trying to defend one officer (Sameer Wankhede).

“It is due to the friendship between Sameer Wankhede and Devendra Fadnavis that criminal activities flourished in Mumbai and Maharashtra during the BJP government’s tenure,” he added.

Malik has continued to hit out at Wankhede since his son-in-law Sameer Khan was granted bail in a drug case.

Yesterday, the leader of opposition Devendra Fadnavis had alleged that Nawab Malik bought land from the convicts of the ‘93 Bombay bomb blast case, while he was a minister in the previous NCP-Congress government.
