Fire Breaks Out At ICU Ward Of COVID-19 Hospital In Maharashtra, 13 Patients Killed

Mumbai: A fire broke out at an ICU ward of a COVID-19 hospital named Vijay Vallabh Covid Care hospital in Maharashtra’s Virar on Friday morning.

As many as 13 patients were charred to death, while other affected patients were shifted to nearby hospitals.

According to preliminary reports, the ICU’s AC unit caught fire due to a short circuit.

“13 people have died after a fire broke out in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) around 3 am today. 21 patients including those in critical condition have been shifted to another hospital,” said Dr Dilip Shah, official, Vijay Vallabh COVID-19 care hospital, Virar.
