Four More Test Positive In Bihar, COVID-19 Tally 147

Mumbai: A top official said that on Thursday, four more people tested positive for COVID 19 in Bihar, all residents of a coronavirus hotspot in Munger district.

Principal Secretary of Health Department, Sanjay Kumar said that the patients included three women aged 60-68 and 30-year-old men, all of whom are residents of Jamalpur block in the district.

Jamalpur has accounted for over a dozen cases in the past one week, and most of these have been linked to a 60- year-old vegetable seller who had travelled on foot to and from Bihar Sharif in Nalanda district last month to attend a Tablighi Jamaat congregation.

Both Munger and Nalanda now keep track of 31 cases, leading to the two worst in the state.

Meanwhile, six patients have been recovered from Munger and one has died. Nalanda still has 29 active cases.

The total number of active cases is now 103.

Two patients, including one from Vaishali district, have died, while 42 have died.

In 17 of the 38 districts of the state, COVID 19 cases have been reported, though only in Siwan (29) and Patna (16) apart from Nalanda and Munger, double-digit cases have been reported.
