Full Strength Squad Announced By Sri Lanka For Tour Of Pakistan
Mumbai: Sri Lanka has named their full-strength squad for the Test series against Pakistan which will be held in Pakistan from 11 December. Their big guns such as Angelo Mathews, Dinesh Chandimal return in the squad. The series will be of 2 test matches first is to be played in Rawalpindi and second in Lahore.
Last time when Sri Lanka went to Pakistan for ODI’s and T20I’s many Sri Lankan players such as Dikwella, Malinga, etc opted out due to security reasons. But the inexperienced Sri Lankan side won the T20I series by 3-0. Whereas Pakistan dominated the ODI series by 2-0.
In 2009 when Sri Lanka toured Pakistan and when Sri Lankan players where on the bus on the way to Gaddafi Stadium of Lahore terrorists attacked the bus and it left eight people dead and 7 Sri Lankan players and staff injured. Since then International cricket excluded Pakistan and no high profile team toured Pakistan.
This is the first time in ten years an international Test series will be happening on Pakistan soil.
