Haryana Gears Up For COVID-19 Vaccination, 1.9 Lakh Healthcare Workers On Priority

Mumbai: The Haryana government has prepared data of 1.9 lakh health care workers (HCW) from both private and government sectors on the co-winning portal for successful implementation of the COVID-19 vaccination campaign whenever the vaccine is made available in the country.

Sharing the details of the preparations for the COVID-19 vaccine rollout, Additional Chief Secretary, Health, Rajiv Arora said that the department has already identified 1,800 vaccination session sites and more than 5,000 vaccinators have been mapped for the process of administering the vaccine.

To ensure that the vaccine reaches every district, the Health Department has 22 vaccine vans (untouched) to transport vaccines across the state.

“The Haryana government has carefully prepared the vaccine rollout plan and is fully ready to roll it out. The health department is preparing for the introduction of the COVID-19 vaccine and will expeditiously roll it out when available. The platform of the existing Universal Immunisation program of the state with enhanced capacity is being used for the COVID-19 vaccine,” Arora stated.

In Haryana, vaccination will be done at scheduled session sites, mapping of session sites is in progress. The official said that the election model would be vaccinated with the participation of other departments as per the guidelines of the Center.

On the availability of cold storage, he stated that the state has sufficient cold chain space to meet the additional requirement for the COVID-19 vaccine.

“In addition, category-wise vaccination has to be done in a phased manner. Prior experience managing large campaigns like Measles-Rubella (MR) has been an asset and helps the department in formulating practical plans. In addition, all districts He said that instructions have been given to create additional dry space for storage of logistics, and most of the districts have already made additional space for this.

Disclosing details of infrastructure for storage, transport and transport vaccine and logistics supply chain, he said that a ‘state vaccine store’ has been identified in Kurukshetra, four in Hisar, Gurugram, Kurukshetra, Rohtak, 22 districts Regional vaccine stores have been identified. Vaccine stores and 659 cold chain points have been identified.

Haryana has 5,387 COVID-19 active cases, as per the state health department’s Tuesday’s bulletin.
