He’s Probably As cool As Dhoni: Plessis On Karthik’s 6, 4 In Final Over
Mumbai: RCB captain praised Dinesh Karthik after the wicketkeeper-batter smashed a six and a four in the final over when they needed seven runs to win the game against KKR.
RCB captain Faf du Plessis said in a post-match presentation, “DK’s experience helped in the end, cool-calm, runs weren’t never really too far away. He’s probably as cool as MS Dhoni can get in the last five overs.”
Bangalore pacers Akash Deep and Mohammad Siraj took three wickets in the powerplay to give their team a good start after du Plessis decided to bowl first.
“Very happy. Goodwin, obviously chasing a small score, you want to be positive and don’t leave it late, but it was good bowling from their fast bowlers. Tonight was seam and bounce, first The night it jumped a little higher,” Faf du Plessis explained.
Despite the win, the RCB captain believed that his team should have finished the match better as their bowlers bowled out Kolkata Knight Riders for 128 in 18.5 overs.
Faf du Plessis said, “Two-three days ago, it was 200 v 200. Tonight it was 120 v 120, great. In a perfect world, we would’ve liked to have won more convincingly but a win is a win.”
The Faf du Plessis-led side have registered their first win of the season and will now take on Rajasthan Royals in their next match on April 5.
