Total Number Of Coronavirus Cases In India Rises To 694; Death Toll Reaches 16

Mumbai: With the highest upsurge to date, India stands at 96,169 Covid-19 positive cases reporting 5,242 cases in the last 24 hours.

The country has recorded 157 fresh deaths taking the death toll to 3,029 including 56,316 active cases and 36,824 recoveries.

The most hit state Maharashtra remains opulent with 33,053 positive cases and 1,198 fatalities. This is followed by Gujarat 11,379 cases and 659 deaths and Tamil Nadu 11,224 cases and 78 deaths.

The capital Delhi reports 10,054 positive cases and 160 deaths as per the MoHFw stats.

More than 23 lakh samples have been tested in India according to ICMR. The country has extended the lockdown till 31st May easing some of the operations in all the three zones. The containment zones are confined to certain operations.

Ease in economic liquidity is also being insured via various packages provided by the government in India.
