Hong Kong Leader Announced The Withdrawal Of Extradition Bill

Mumbai: On Wednesday while addressing the media the Hong Kong Leader Carrie Lam is said to withdraw the scandalous extradition bill from Hong Kong. The introduction of the bill had led to a series of protests by the citizens against the bill and had dismantled Hong Kong’s economy.

The protests stretched for about four months before the sources confirmed the bill was finally to be withdrawn by the HK leader. A government source on Wednesday confirmed the news of the withdrawal of the bill, just two days after Carrie Lam told the leaders she gave rise to unforgivable havoc by introducing the bill.

However, many suggest that it took a little too late for Lam to recognize her mistake and withdrawing the bill four months after the protests began. On Wednesday Carrie Lam’s leaked audio revealed that if she had a choice she would apologize and resign from her position.

According to the extradition bill any suspicious person or an accused would have had to be flown to mainland China where the courts are controlled by the communist party. The former British colony through the protest demanded that their freedom should not be handed over to China without their consent.

The protest against the extradition bill began in March after which they developed into a much larger cause. The protestors added another four demands along with a demand for the removal of the bill. The most highlighted demand apart from the removal of the extradition bill was the resignation of the now Hong Kong Leader Carrie Lam.
