Mumbai: Kolkata Knight Riders chased out the target of 206 yesterday with five balls to spare, this came through the bat of the power hitter – Andre Russell.
Andre Russell hit 7 maximums with a strike rate of above 300 scoring 48 runs off just his 13 deliveries leading KKR to the victory.
At the post-match presentation, Russell said, “A part of me was saying it isn’t possible, but I knew once I am there anything is possible and we won with 5 balls to spare.”
“No ground is too big for me, I just trust my power and strength,” he added.
Andre Russell in this Vivo IPL 2019 season has the most number of sixes (22) with Nitish Rana following from KKR with (12) sixes.
Brian Lara former player of West Indies, hailed Russell as he tweeted that West Indies squad for the upcoming World Cup should consist of Andre Russell in the squad.
