India Records Highest Single-Day Rise Of 2.95 Lakh COVID-19 Cases, 2,023 Deaths

Mumbai: India has reported 2,95,041 new COVID-19 cases and 2,023 deaths in the last 24 hours, both highest in a day since the pandemic began.

According to the Union Ministry of Health, 2,95,041 new COVID-19 cases and 2,023 deaths were recorded, taking the total cases to 1,56,16,130, including 21,57,538 active cases.

So far 1,32,76,039 have been recovered, of which 1,67,457 have been reported in the last 24 hours. The death toll is 1,82,553. The total number of vaccinations in the country is 13,01,19,310.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 27,10,53,392 samples for COVID-19 have been tested till 20 April. Of these, 16,39,357 were tested yesterday.
