India Reports 37,875 New COVID Cases, Kerala 25,772 Cases; 369 Deaths In 24 Hrs

Mumbai: India has reported 37,875 new COVID-19 cases and 369 deaths in the last 24 hours. Kerala accounted for 68% of the new cases reported in the country as it saw 25,772 cases and 189 deaths on Tuesday.

The death toll climbed to 4,41,411 with 369 fresh fatalities, according to the data updated at 8 am.

The ministry said active cases comprise 1.18 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 97.48 per cent.

A decrease of 1,608 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in the 24-hour period.

On Tuesday, 17,53,745 tests were conducted to take the total cumulative tests conducted so far to 53,49,43,093 for the detection of COVID-19 in the country.

The daily positivity rate was recorded at 2.16 per cent. It is less than three per cent for the last nine days.

The weekly positivity rate was recorded at 2.49 per cent. According to the Health Ministry, it has been below three percent for the last 75 days.

The number of people cured of the disease rose to 3,22,64,051, while the death rate was recorded at 1.33 per cent.

The cumulative doses administered in the country so far under the nationwide vaccination drive has exceeded 70.75 crore according to the ministry.
