India Reports 45,951 New COVID-19 Cases, A Day After Reporting Less Than 40,000

Maharashtra Reports Its First Death From Delta Plus COVID-19 Variant

Mumbai: according to the Union Health Ministry, India has reported 45,951 new COVID-19 cases and 817 deaths in the last 24 hours. The country reported the lowest deaths in the last 81 days.

With this, the total COVID-19 cases in the country reached 3,03,62,848 while the death toll surged to 3,98,454.

According to the data published at 7 am, a total of 33.28 crore vaccine doses have been given so far under the nationwide vaccination campaign.

The active cases further declined to 5,37,064 comprising 1.77 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has improved to 96.92 per cent, the data updated at 8 am showed.
