India To Grow At 9.27% in FY22, Highest Among All Large Economies: FM Sitharaman

Mumbai: During her Union Budget speech, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday said that India is estimated to grow at 9.27% in 2021-22, which is the “highest among all large economies”.

“We are in a strong position to withstand challenges due to higher vaccinations,” Sitharaman added. The FM further said that Union Budget 2022-23 “will steer the economy towards India @100”.

Sitharaman is expected to announce more spending on roads, railways and higher subsidies for affordable housing. During his presentation, he said that this year’s budget will continue to give impetus to development.

In her speech, the Union Finance Minister said that economic reforms are benefiting from public investment and capital expenditure.

FM Nirmala Sitharaman said that PM Gati Shakti, inclusive development, productivity enhancement and investment and financing of investment are four priorities of the government in Budget 2022-23.

The government will focus on climate action, she added.
