Indian Cricketer Rohit Sharma Calls Greta Thunberg An ‘Inspiration’

Mumbai: Cricketer Rohit Sharma tweeted at Swedish environmental activist, Greta Thunberg by calling her an ‘Inspiration’. He retweeted the speech of Thunberg and expressed his opinions regarding the environment’s protection.

He tweeted saying, “Leaving the saving of our planet to our children is utterly unfair. @GretaThunberg, you’re an inspiration. There are no excuses now. We owe the future generations a safe planet. The time for change is now.”

Greta Thunberg, 16-year-old, environment activist from Sweden who quit her studies to spread awareness for protecting the environment. Thunberg is now the global face for climate inaction and is leading the mass youth movement for the same.

She was invited at the Climate Change Summit hosted by UN Secretary-Generall Antonio Guterres, where she gave a speech addressing the serious issue of global heating across the world. she also took a dig at the exponential growth of money-making business and how it is harming the environment.

She also highlighted many issues and also slammed the politicians for giving the environment issue a political angle. She believes that the environment should be protected and that too for our upcoming generations.

She further added that people are suffering & dying as the ecosystem is vanishing and we are probably stepping towards mass extinction. The crystal clear science is always alarming us but we continue to make money.

Thunberg has been protesting in front of Swedish parliament on every Friday against inaction over climate change. The protest has been going on since August 2018.

Looking over the facts, US president, Donald Trump tweeted, “seems like a very happy young girl looking forward to a bright and wonderful future. So nice to see!” citing Thunberg.
