Security Tightened In Delhi After Govt Notifies CAA Implementation

Mumbai: Northeast Delhi, Shaheen Bagh, Jamia, and other critical regions of the nation’s capital have increased security as a result of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019 (CAA) being notified on Monday, according to officials.

According to them, flag marches have been held in several areas of northeast and southeast Delhi, and police and paramilitary forces have also been stationed there.

2020 saw rioting in Delhi over the National Register of Citizenship (NRC) and the CAA. “It is our duty to ensure the safety of every single common man in Delhi’s northeast district,” DCP northeast Joy Tirkey stated to PTI.

He went on to say that paramilitary groups and northeast district police officers are actively monitoring and checking vulnerable places to ensure the safety of the public. The officer noted that everyone is asked to abide by the safety regulations.

Undocumented non-Muslim migrants from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Pakistan can now apply for citizenship according to the notification of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019 guidelines on Monday.

The Modi government will now begin awarding Indian nationality to persecuted non-Muslim migrants from Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Afghanistan who arrived in India up until December 31, 2014, following the issuance of the CAA regulations. These consist of Christians, Parsis, Buddhists, Jains, Sikhs, and Hindus.
