IPL Mega Auction To Begin At 11 am On February 12 And 13

Mumbai: The IPL mega auction will begin at 11 am on February 12 and 13 in Bengaluru, the organisers have announced. A total of 590 cricketers will go under the hammer during the two-day mega auction.

This was confirmed by the official Twitter handle of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

“The TATA IPL Auction 2022 is almost here, where your favourite teams’ future will be decided! This is where their road to success shall begin. Catch every move from the mega auction. Feb 12-13, 11 AM onwards,” read the tweet from the official Twitter handle of the Indian Premier League.

Apart from this, two new IPL franchises Ahmedabad and Lucknow have been included in the mix of the 15th edition of IPL. And, both these franchises have confirmed their three draft picks ahead of the mega auction.

Lucknow picked KL Rahul, Marcus Stoinis and Ravi Bishnoi, while the Ahmedabad franchise picked Hardik Pandya, Rashid Khan and Shubman Gill. Rahul and Pandya will lead the Lucknow and Ahmedabad franchises respectively.

While Rahul will be given a hefty salary of Rs 17 crore, Pandya will get Rs 15 crore. A total of 590 players have been shortlisted for this year’s IPL mega auction. Of these, 355 are uncapped cricketers, while 228 are capped, cricketers.

Marquee names like Ravichandran Ashwin, David Warner, Pat Cummins, Shreyas Iyer, Shikhar Dhawan, Trent Boult, Mohammed Shami, Quinton de Kock, Kagiso Rabada and Faf du Plessis will go under the hammer in the mega auction.

Also, a total of 48 players have been shortlisted in the INR 2 Crore bracket, while 20 players have registered their names in the INR 1.5 Crore bracket. 34 players have a base price of INR 1 Crore.
