A few days ahead of the two-day event in Bengaluru, Karthik has said that he would be privileged to be a part of defending champions Chennai Super Kings but added that it is difficult for him to pick an option. Also Read: People Said Quit Cricket, Drive Autos With Father: Siraj Recalls IPL 2019

The Tamil Nadu cricketer has represented six teams in the IPL, including Delhi, Punjab, the now-defunct Gujarat Lions, Royal Challengers Bangalore, five-time champions Mumbai Indians and KKR.

“It is very difficult for me to answer this question as it would be a very cliched answer. I will try to do everything I can, not only for the franchise I play for but for myself also,” said Dinesh Karthik as quoted as saying by India Today.

“Look, if I can play for CSK that’s great. I’m from Chennai. But at the end of the day, it’s important for me that any team I get a chance to play in will be an absolute honour, Because, as I said, all this practice that I am doing these days is to try and do well. In tournaments like IPL,” he said.

CSK will once again be led by the charismatic MS Dhoni in the 15th edition of the marquee tournament, which is reportedly scheduled to begin on March 27.

Just months before the mega auction, Chennai had retained the last edition’s Orange Cap winner Ruturaj Gaikwad, star India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and his English counterpart Moeen Ali.
