It’s A Dream For All Of Us, WTC Is World Cup Of Test Format: Pujara

Mumbai: Ahead of the WTC final against New Zealand, Team India batsman Cheteshwar Pujara has said that the match is a “dream” for all of them as it’s the “World Cup of Test format”.

The right-hander further revealed that the victory over Australia in the year 2018 was the most special win for India.

“It’s a dream for all of us because WTC is indeed the World Cup of Test format and we all would like to win this trophy. Any tour of Australia is always a big challenge and very important for us. In that sense, the 2018 win was the most special.

“And then, of course, our previous series win was also very special as the team was relatively weak as some of the senior players were not and some of them were injured and not available for all matches. As a team, it was a big achievement and personally, it was very satisfying,” Pujara quoted by The Hindustan Times as saying.

Meanwhile, BCCI has named a 20-man Indian squad for the inaugural ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final against New Zealand and the five-match Test series against England.

India’s squad: Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Mayank Agarwal, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli (Captain), Ajinkya Rahane (vice-captain), Hanuma Vihari, Rishabh Pant (wicket-keeper), R.
