Jaishankar Discusses The Indo-Pacific, Bilateral Ties With New Zealand’s Opposition Leader

Mumbai: Indian External Affair Minister S. Jaishankar on Monday held a discussion with the New Zealand Opposition Leader Simon Bridges and talked about the Indo-Pacific and ways to strengthen the bilateral tied between both the countries

In a tweet, Jaishankar said, “Pleasure to receive New Zealand’s Leader of Opposition @Simonjbridges. Good discussion on the Indo-Pacific and on expanding bilateral relations.”

Both the ministers had agreed to upgrade economic and political ties between India and New Zealand. Both the countries have reported having friendly relations over the past years in the linkage of Commonwealth, Parliamentary democracy and English language.

In the ASEAN related meetings, Jaishankar had met his counterpart from New Zealand, Winston Peters in Bangkok and agreed to enhance the relations between both the countries.
