Karnataka Reports 2,298 New COVID Cases, 12 Deaths

Mumbai: For the second consecutive day on Wednesday, Karnataka entered more than 2,000 new cases, reporting 2,298 new infections and 12 related fatal incidents.

The Bulletin of the Department of Health states that with the addition of new cases, caseload mounted to 9,75,955 and the toll to 12,461.

The state reported 2,010 cases on Tuesday. A total of 2,06,74,133 samples have been tested so far, of which 1,08,013 were tested on Wednesday.

Bengaluru Urban today accounts for 1,398 cases.

On this day also, 995 patients had the chance to be discharged after recovery, leading to a cumulative tally of 9,46,589 discharges.

According to the Bulletin, out of 16,886 active cases, 16,743 patients are in isolation in designated hospitals and stable, while 143 are in ICUs.

Today, seven death each occurred from Bengaluru Urban, Mysuru 2 and Dharwad, Kalaburagi and Koppal. Kalaburgi comprises 118 cases, Tumkuru 94, Bidar 82, Udupi 79, Mysuru 74, Hasan 60 others.

Bengaluru Urban district topped the list with a total of 4,21,236 cases, followed by Mysuru 55,046 and Ballari 39,566. Also in discharge, Bengaluru tops the Urban with 4,05,152, followed by Mysore 53,550 and Ballari 38,805.
