Left Defaming JNU, Turning University Into Centre Of Hooliganism: Giriraj Singh

Earlier on Sunday evening, more than 18 students of the university, including JNUSU president Aishe Ghosh, were injured and were taken to the AIIMS

Mumbai: Reacting to the recent incident at JNU University, Union Minister Giriraj Singh accused leftist students of bringing the Jawaharlal University into disrepute and said that they have turned the university into a centre of hooliganism.

“The way the Left party activists have created a ruckus at the JNU campus and beaten the student, I do not know what they want JNU to be made in this country. Left students are defaming Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), they have turned the University into a centre of hooliganism,” Singh told ANI.

Earlier on Sunday evening, more than 18 students of the university, including JNUSU president Aishe Ghosh, were injured and were taken to the AIIMS Trauma Center after entering by a masked mob at JNU and lathi and rod over them and the professors were attacked.

Meanwhile, Delhi police have registered a case following the CCTV footage, “We have taken cognizance of yesterday’s incident and have registered an FIR. Social media and CCTV footages will be part of the investigation,” South-West DCP Devendra Arya told ANI.
