Maharashtra: 15-Days Shutdown Announced In 33 Areas Of Mumbai

Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray clarified that the ban would continue across the state even after June 30, with the Kalyan-Dombivali Municipal Corporation announcing a complete shutdown in 33 zones out of a total of 160. 

Notably, more than 3,300 cases have been reported from Kalyan and Dombivli so far.

Only essential services will be allowed after the bandh and other activities will be restricted in these areas. According to reports, essential services in these areas will be available from 9 am to 5 pm. In addition, unnecessary travel will be restricted for the next 15 days.

 

In addition, a complete shutdown has also been implemented in 10 areas of Navi Mumbai. On the other hand, Thane Municipal Corporation is implementing shut localized shutdowns in view of the increasing COVID cases.

With a spike of 5,493 cases, Maharashtra remained the worst-hit state in the country. The state has a total of 1,64,626 cases, including 7,429 deaths.
