Mumbai: West Bengal CM, Mamata Banerjee writes a letter to PM Modi alleging Shramik Train Migrants being transported to the state every day without permission.
Banerjee earlier had requested the centre to halt the Shramik trains to cope with the aftermaths of cyclone Amphan.
Stating the state’s infrastructure is ‘stretched to its limit’, Mamata questions Modi where will they keep the migrants for institutional quarantine.
“The state government is facing a dual crisis of the COVID-19 pandemic and the devastation caused by Cyclone Amphan. Our infrastructure is completely stretched. The railways are sending Shramik Special trains to the state every day according to its whims and fancies, without even bothering to inform us,” Banerjee said.
She further slams the centre to stop pursuing politics when the state is facing a dual crisis of Covid-19 pandemic and cyclone Amphan.
However, she has requested PM Modi to intervene in the matter as the state is in no condition to receive more than a few Shramik Trains.
