Man Killed For Raising ‘Hindustan Zindabad’ Slogan After Watching ‘Gadar 2’

Mumbai: A 30-year-old man named Malkit Singh alias Veeru was beaten to death by his friends for raising the ‘Hindustan Zindabad’ slogan after watching ‘Gadar 2’ on his mobile phone in Chhattisgarh. Shockingly, it was his friends who beat him so badly, that he succumbed to his injuries.

Police detained four suspects in the crime, all of them were close acquaintances of the victim, according to local news reports. The names of the four suspects who were taken into custody are Tasavvur, Faizal, Shubham Lahare, and Tarun Nishad.

According to authorities, one of the accused is running away. The head of Khursipar Gurudwara is the father of the young man who was assaulted and ultimately died.

As soon as they heard about the tragedy, members of the victim’s family and the nearby Sikh community arrived at the Khursipar police station. In protest at the entire occurrence, they allegedly stopped the National Highway and demanded Rs. 50 lakh in compensation as well as a government post for Malkit’s wife.

Police claimed that Malkit’s companions believed he was “teasing” them when he raised the phrase Hindustan Zindabad after seeing the most recent film Gadar 2 on his mobile device. Then Malkit’s pals severely beat him and threw him around. He was brought to a nearby hospital and afterward sent to Raipur’s Ramakrishna Care Hospital. He couldn’t be saved, though.

According to a senior official, police have detained four of the accused and are looking for the fifth, who has fled.
