Mumbai: In a shocking incident, a 35-year-old man has been arrested by UP Police as he allegedly divorced with his wife by triple talaq following an argument over an amount of Rs 30 to buy vegetables.
The incident took place on Saturday in Dadra, Greater Noida, when the couple allegedly reported a hot debate about the amount. It has been reported in the reports that husband Sabir left his wife and hit Jainab (30) and then divorced her when she asked him to give the amount to buy vegetables.
In her complaint to the police, she claimed that she was subjected to repeated violence by her in-laws including her husband.
In the FIR (first information report), Jainab said that he was badly beaten on Saturday by her husband, his brother-in-law Zakir, Bhabhi Samama and Saas Najjo. Jainab also said that she was given electric shocks with a wire. After the incident, she was admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The case has been registered against Sabir and other members of the family under different sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC). Station House Officer of Dadri Police Station, Neeraj Malik said that the IPC registered under section 504 (deliberately offence), 498-A (husband or relative of husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty) and 506 (criminal intimidation) FIR lodged. However, Sabir was granted bail on June 30, 2019, by City Magistrate of Dadri.
Meanwhile, Zainab has been sent back to his parents’ home with his three children. Police officials said that he was sent for medical examination, where the charge of electric shock was not found to be correct.
