Mumbai 26/11 Mastermind Hafiz Saeed Found Guilty Of Terror Financing

Mumbai: According to media reports Mumbai terror attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed has been declared as guilty by Pakistan Counter Terrorism.

Saeed’s case has been shifted to Pakistan’s Gujrat now, they added.

On July 17 Saeed was arrested by Pakistan officials over charges related to terror financing and was sent to seven days in judicial custody. On July 24, it was extended by 14 days.

A CTD official told PTI that it submitted challan in the ATC declaring Saeed guilty of terror financing.

“These suspects made assets from funds of terrorism financing. They held & used these assets to raise more funds for further terrorism financing. Hence, they committed multiple offences of terrorism financing & money laundering under Anti Terrorism Act 1997. They will be prosecuted in ATCs (Anti Terrorism Courts) for commission of these offences,” the CTD said.

On July 3, the top 13 leaders of the banned Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD), including Saeed and Naib Amir Abdul Rahman Makki, were booked under the Anti-Terrorism Act in nearly two dozen cases relating to the financing of terror and money laundering.

The Treasury Department of US has designated Saeed as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist. Since 2012, the US has offered  a $10 million reward for information that brings Saeed to justice.
