Mumbai Revokes The Sale Of Liquor, Only Essential Goods Shop To Be Open

Mumbai: On a major update coming on Tuesday, the BMC has revoked the Sale of Liquor in Mumbai with effect from Wednesday.

The decision comes after the hassle situation created by the liquor consumers by flouting the social distancing norms.

The Maharashtra government has expressed concern over the mounting figures of Covid-19 cases in the state as the tally reaches double the figures of Delhi.

With the continuous rise seen in Mumbai, BMC has revoked the relaxations in the urban areas. However, the sale of essential commodities will remain to be open.

The government says the lockdown has helped to avert the surging figures of coronavirus cases in Maharashtra that otherwise could have swamped the Medical Services.

Mumbai stands the largest hit pandemic city with over 10,000 cases. The State has recorded 1,567 cases and 35 deaths on Tuesday taking the toll to 14,541 with 583 fatalities and 2,465 recoveries.
