Muslim Organisations In Chandigarh Protest Against Citizenship Act
Mumbai: Muslim organizations in Chandigarh took to the streets to protest against the newly amended citizenship law.
“We oppose the Citizenship Act” and “boycott CAA and NRC”, seizing those caught, people sat on the street and staged peaceful protests.

The protest has erupted since last month when centre introduced Citizenship Amendment Bill which grants Indian citizenship to refugees from Hindu, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist and Parsi communities fleeing religious persecution from Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh, who entered India on or before December 31, 2014.

Earlier in the day, Delhi police detained Ramchandra Guha while protesting in the national capital.
Section-144, which prohibits the gathering of four or more people, has been imposed for the next three days from 6 am today in the entire Bangalore city including the Bangalore rural district.
