No Bilateral Meeting Between Pak PM Imran Khan And PM Modi At SCO Summit In Bishkek: MEA

Mumbai: In a statement released by Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Raveesh Kumar stated that no bilateral meeting has been planned between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his counterpart Pakistan PM Imran Khan on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit to be held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, on June 13-14.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Raveesh Kumar told reporters, “According to my knowledge, there is no bilateral meeting with Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan at the SCO summit in Bishkek.” He said, “It is a personal journey and there was no meeting with them.”

Meanwhile, he also spoke about the reports which claimed Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) founder Hafiz Saeed was not allowed to lead Eid prayers at Gaddafi stadium in Lahore, Kumar said, “We have seen earlier as well that no follow up is done to such actions. Pakistan must walk the talk.”

While addressing Iran’s oil situation, Kumar said, “I have not changed much from what I said earlier, the basic principle is that whatever decisions we make will be based on commercial views, energy security and our national interest.”

Speaking on Kartarpur Corridor controversy he said, “We’ve sought clarification on reports that controversial elements have been appointed by Pakistan, from a committee associated with this project. We’ve sought clarification from Pakistan on some of the key proposals forwarded in last meetings.”
