No One Can Challenge India’s Borders Because Of PM’s Defence Policy: Amit Shah

Mumbai: Home Minister Amit Shah has said that no one can challenge India’s borders and its sovereignty after Prime Minister Narendra Modi crafted a separate defence policy.

Speaking at the 18th Raising Ceremony of the Border Security Force (BSF), the Union Home Minister pointed out the important role played by the force in erstwhile East Pakistan.

Shah said, “Human rights were being violated in eastern East Pakistan. Women were being harassed. At that time BSF jawans played an important role. Now, Bangladesh is an independent nation. Rustamji (BSF founder Khusro Faramurz Rustamji) oversaw the operation,” Shah said.

He said, “Border security is national security. We have many challenges before us. I have full faith in our paramilitary forces. Under PM Modi, we have an independent defence policy, which warned those challenging our sovereignty in the same language is.” ”

Saluting the Bravehearts, he stressed that India is consolidating its position on the world map.

Shah said, “I salute those who have made the supreme sacrifice. These Bravehearts and warriors cannot be forgotten. India is proud on the world map because of BSF and our paramilitary forces, who are guarding the borders.”

“We had to move along a coastline of 7,516 km and a land border of over 15,000 km. For a long time, there was no discussion on border security due to some priorities. When Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s govt was formed, the issue was pushed forward,” he added.

According to a statement issued by the BSF, 27 BSF personnel are being awarded including 14 Police Medals for Gallantry and 13 Police Medals for Meritorious Services.
