Omicron Cases In India Jump To 781, Govt Releases State-Wise List

Mumbai: Omicron COVID-19 variant cases in India jumped by 128 in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of cases to 781. The number of cases crossed the 200-mark in Delhi, with the national capital reporting 238 Omicron cases.

Maharashtra has reported 167 Omicron cases so far, while Gujarat, Kerala and Telangana have reported 60-plus cases.

Meanwhile, India has reported 9,195 new COVID-19 cases and 302 deaths in the last 24 hours.

With this, the country’s COVID-19 case tally has risen to 3,48,08,886 and the death toll has risen to 4,80,592. The ministry informed that India’s active caseload currently stands at 77,002, which is 0.22 per cent of the country’s total positive cases, the lowest since March 2020.

With 7,347 patients getting cured in the last 24 hours, since the start of the pandemic, the cumulative number of COVID recovered patients now stands at 3,42,51,292. The recovery rate currently stands at 98.40 per cent which is the highest since the start of the pandemic.

The weekly positivity rate is 0.68 per cent and is less than 1 per cent for the last 45 days. The daily positivity rate stands at 0.79 per cent and has remained below 2 per cent for the last 86 days.

India has given a total of 143.15 crore vaccine doses so far under the National Immunization Campaign. The COVID vaccination campaign started on January 16, 2021.

A total of 1,43,15,35,641 people have been vaccinated in the country so far, out of which 64,61,321 people have been vaccinated in the last 24 hours.
