Pakistan Banned Militant Groups Of Hafiz Saeed’s Jamat-ud-Dawa And Falah-e-Insaniat

Mumbai: Under Anti Terrorism Act 1997, Pakistan has officially banned the two militant groups of Hafiz Saeed’s Jama’at-ud-Da’wah and its subsidiary Falah-e-Insaniat Foundation. Although, a couple of weeks before on February 21, Pakistan has announced the ban on the above two groups.

Pakistan Interior ministry stated that the two groups have been denigrated and step ahead to the banned list which already has 70 organizations.

This groups superintended of the 26\11 2008 Mumbai attack which had brought the whole nation to shake and death of more than a hundred of people and police force. Hafeez Saeed and his groups are already in the watch list of India.

Pakistan government has also arrested Jaish-e-Muhammad Chief Masood Azhar’s brother Abdul Raha Asghar and son Hammer Azhar with 42 other militants.

Spokesman of Pakistan’s interior ministry said, On February 21, During a meeting of National Security Committee (NSC) which was chaired by PM Imran Khan, the decision was taken to ban these two terror groups.

He said, “It was decided to ban Jamaat-ud-Dawa and Falah-e-Insaniat Foundation.”

It is to be noted that, this exertion came after the increasing International pressure on Pakistan. Even The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) has said if Pakistan cannot restrict with the points of UN against terrorism than serious actions would be taken and it can also be blacklisted.

In accordance with the officials, the two terror groups have around 50,000 of volunteers, hundreds of paid workers as well. There are 300 seminaries, hospitals, and schools, service of ambulance and publishing house. This all are the networks of JuD.

In December 2008, under United Nation Security Council, Hafiz Saeed was listed under 1267. In November 2017 he was released from house arrest.

Jud is the front organization of LeT which was responsible for 23\11 2008 terror bomb blast in Mumbai. In June 2014, The US has declared it as a foreign organization for terrorist.

The Department of US treasury has termed Hafiz Saeed as the specially designated global terrorist. Since 2012, $10 Million rewards is been offered by the US for information that brings Hafiz Saeed to justice.
