Mumbai: On a special occasion of Women’s Day Vistara the Indian airline will offer free sanitary pads “on request” to women travellers on domestic flights.
Vistara said in a statement that, “The airline will provide organic sanitary napkins made from ISO 9001: 2015 certified, bio-degradable and plant-based fibre, which are free from plastic, toxins and perfumes.”
From this Friday, the full-service carrier’s cabin crew will make in-flight announcements on all flights to create awareness that sanitary pads are now available on the board for customers so that they can easily ask if needed.
Vistara Senior Vice President Deepa Chadha said, “The initiative to provide sanitary pads to our customers is a meaningful thing, which reflects our main philosophy that ‘small things bring great change.’
Chadha said, “As a woman, I feel proud to be part of an organization that is providing such essential facilities to the customers – something that will help many travellers in the time of need.”
The airline had recently announced the introduction of services for Raipur and Dibrugarh (Assam), which was charging 24 for their destinations, which included a fleet of 22 Airbus A320 aircraft, which had more than 800 flights in a week Was operating.
