Mumbai: Petrol has become costlier by ₹11.44 per litre across India as the rates have been hiked 41 times in 75 days. On Saturday, petrol price was hiked by 30 paise, while diesel price remained unchanged.

The highest fuel rates have been recorded in Rajasthan’s Ganganagar where pumps are selling petrol at ₹113.21 per litre and diesel at ₹103.15 a litre.

However, several hikes in about two-and-a-half months have made Diesel costlier by ₹9.14 per litre since May.

After the latest hike, the price of petrol in Delhi has gone up to Rs 101.84 per liter and that of diesel to Rs 89.87 per litre. While state-run Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) fuel rates in Delhi are the benchmark for the country as a whole, retail prices of both fuels differ due to variations in state taxes and local charges.

Petrol prices have already crossed Rs 100 per litre in five metros – Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata and Bangalore.

The price of one litre of petrol in Mumbai is now ₹107.83 and diesel ₹97.45. The highest fuel rates have been recorded in Rajasthan’s Ganganagar, where petrol pump is selling at Rs 113.21 per litre and diesel at Rs 103.15 per litre.
