PM Modi Becomes 1st World Leader To Cross 2 Crore Subscribers On YouTube

Mumbai: PM Narendra Modi has become the first world leader to cross 2 crore subscribers on YouTube. His channel has more than 23,000 videos with over 453 crore views in total.

PM Modi’s YouTube channel had crossed 1 crore subscribers in February last year.

Officials observed that the videos on Modi’s channel have received over 4.5 billion views, placing him far ahead of his global rivals.

Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro comes in second with roughly 64 lakh subscribers, which is less than a third of Modi’s.

In terms of views, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy ranks second to Modi, with 22.4 crore, a little fraction of Modi’s.

Vice President Joe Biden of the United States has 7.89 lakh followers on Twitter, while Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has 3.16 lakh.

‘Yoga with Modi,’ a YouTube video affiliated with the prime leader, is also near the top of the list, with almost 73,000 subscribers.

Among other prominent Indian figures, former Congress President Rahul Gandhi’s channel has more than 35 lakh subscribers, just more than a sixth of Modi’s.

When he was Gujarat’s chief minister in 2007, the prime minister launched his YouTube account. He is regarded as a pioneer in Indian politics in realizing the potential of social media in public communication and is credited with harnessing it to great effect.
