Earlier on Sunday morning, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said prayers at the well-known Lord Krisha temple in Dwarkadish, Gujarat.

The magnificent Dwarkadhish Temple, one of the Char Dhams, is located in Gujarat at the confluence of the Gomti River and the Arabian Sea. It is a major Hindu pilgrimage place for Vaishnavites, particularly those who are followers of Lord Krishna.

Lord Krishna, also known as Dwarkadhish, or the King of Dwarka, is the main deity of the temple.

The temple priests later gave the PM an idol of Lord Krishna.

The longest cable-stayed bridge in the nation, Sudarshan Setu, opened earlier in the day. It spans around 2.32 km and connects the Gujarati town of Beyt Dwarka with the Okha mainland.

“Delighted to inaugurate Sudarshan Setu today – a bridge that connects lands and people. It stands vibrantly as a testament of our commitment to development and progress,” the PM said in a post on X.

The bridge is currently called Sudarshan Setu, or Sudarshan Bridge, having previously been known as the “Signature Bridge.” An official announcement states that the 2.32 km bridge, which includes a 900 m central double span cable-stayed component and a 2.45 km approach road, was built for ₹979 crore.

It stated that there are 2.50 meter wide walkways on each sides of the four-lane, 27.20 meter wide bridge. Formerly called “Signature Bridge,” the bridge is now called “Sudarshan Setu,” or Sudarshan Bridge. Beyt Dwarka is an island next to Okha port, approximately 30 kilometers from Dwarka town, home of the well-known Dwarkadhish temple dedicated to Lord Krishna.
