PM Narendra Modi Announces Constitution Of Ram Temple Trust
Mumbai: In a major development, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the formation of श्री Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirthakshetra ‘, which would oversee the construction of a Ram temple in Ayodhya, about three months after the Supreme Court’s decision in a decades-old case.
The Prime Minister said in the Lok Sabha, “We have read a plan for the development of Ram temple in Ayodhya. A trust has been created, it is called ‘Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirth Kshetra ‘.
“I am pleased to announce that an important decision has been taken to follow the instructions of the Supreme Court. As per the directions of the Supreme Court, the Cabinet has prepared a detailed plan for the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. As per the direction of the top court, a proposal for a Shri Ram JanmBhoomi Tirth Kshetra has been passed by the cabinet,” Modi told the lower house.

A five-judge bench of the Supreme Court unanimously ruled in favour of Ram Lalla in November. It said that the entire disputed land spread over 2.7 acres would be handed over to a trust set up by the government, which would oversee the construction of the Ram temple at the site.
The court had asked the government to give 5 acres of land for construction of the mosque to the Sunni Waqf Board in Ayodhya.
