PM Said COVID-19 Isn’t Political But Humanitarian Issue: Union Min

Mumbai: PM Narendra Modi said that the coronavirus pandemic “isn’t a political but a humanitarian issue for us”, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi said on Tuesday while briefing about BJP’s parliamentary meeting.

Giving information about the BJP parliamentary meeting, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi said, “The Prime Minister said that the Kovid epidemic is not a matter of politics, but a human matter for us. After 100 years, this type of pandemic has come on Earth. 100 years back people died of starvation. But it is the first time when the huge population gets ration and not even a single person sleeps hungry. We did it as our responsibility and not a favour to any.”

The minister said that the Prime Minister also expressed concern over the attitude of the opposition amid the current pandemic.

“Especially Congress feels that power is their right and they work according to this mentality. PM wants the discussion in Parliament to be meaningful, Congress is showing the most irresponsible behaviour by disrupting the Houses. Be it vaccines or poor welfare schemes, MPs have been asked to ensure this. 41 crores have been vaccinated. PM Modi has also expressed concern that even in Delhi frontline warriors haven’t been vaccinated,” Joshi added.

Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister on Pegasus Project media report said, “There is no connection between the government and the Pegasus issue. Still, if they (opposition) want to raise the issue through due process, let them raise it.”
