Policeman Removed From Post After Pic Shows His Kids With 27 Bundles Of ₹500 Notes In UP

Mumbai: An SHO, Ramesh Chandra Sahani, in Uttar Pradesh’s Unnao district, was removed from his post and sent to police lines after a picture of his children posing with 27 bundles of ₹500 notes went viral.

According to the news agency PTI, Superintendent of Police (SP) Siddharth Shankar Meena took cognizance of the accusations and ordered a probe into the situation by the Bangarmau circle officer (CO).

The photo, which has since become viral on social media, shows the police officer’s wife and two children sitting on a bed with an immense amount of cash totaling in excess of Rs 13 lakhs. In a viral social media post, CO Pankaj Singh claimed that the Sahani family members were seen seated with bundles of Rs 500 funds notes. He added that a probe into the matter is underway.

The photo, which has since gone viral on social media, shows the police officer’s wife and two children sitting on a bed with an enormous amount of cash valued over Rs 13 lakhs. CO Pankaj Singh stated in a viral social media post that the Sahani family members were seen positioned with bundles of Rs 500 cash notes. He further stated that an investigation into the matter is now underway.

When PTI attempted to contact the shunted SHO, he did not respond.
